CATBALOGAN CITY – The City of Catbalogan was chosen as one of the seven (7) cities in the 2021 QBOxCities: Developing Startup Cities 2021 lineup.
Through the help of Samar State University Technology Business Incubator-Local Alliance of Marine-based Businesses and Food Technology (SSU TBI-LAMBAT), Catbalogan City garnered one of the highest votes as SSU TBI-LAMBAT strengthened the campaign during the nomination period.
This initiative was conceived by the QBO Innovation Hub together with the Department of Information and Communications Technology’s Industry Development Bureau (DICT-IDB) which aims to assess and strengthen the startup landscape and showcase the different cities with promising startup tech hubs.
Catbalogan City will be participating in QLITAN Meetups and Startup Ecosystem Mappings together with Balanga City, Legazpi City, Naga City, Puerto Princesa, Tuguegarao City, and ZamboangaCity.
With this successful collaboration, it is expected that stronger startup cities will be developed and the long-term goal of the DICT to transform the country into a Digital Philippines will be achieved.
