CO-SHINE ‘stars’ gather to champion human resource management

CATBALOGAN CITY – The Consortium of Soaring Higher Education Institutions in the Visayas through Noteworthy Endeavors for Effective Talent Management (CO-SHINE) held a meeting on September 17 (21).

Leaders of eight (8) member-SUCs including President Evelyn Aguirre of Leyte Normal University (LNU), President Joel Limson of Negros Oriental State University (NorSU), President Renante Egcas of Northern Negros State College of Science and Technology (NONESCOST), and President Cherry I. Ultra of the University of Eastern Philippines (UEP) attended the meeting presided by Dr.  Marilyn D. Cardoso of Samar State University (SSU), Chair of the Consortium.

The Biliran Province State University (BiPSU), Carlos Hilado Memorial State College (CHMSC), and Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) were also duly represented in the virtual gathering.

 “CO-SHINE is reflective of what the Consortium of Higher Education Institutions in the Visayas aspire along attracting talent and talent retention and sharing in order to become World-Class and SMART universities. It is a call to join forces and support each other,” stated Dr. Cardoso as she presented the briefer of the consortium.

Ms. Junelle Guerra, SSU Training Coordinator, also presented the CO-SHINE Work Instruction along Talent Acquisition, Onboarding, Talent Promotion, Talent/Expert Retention, and Talent Sharing.

CO-SHINE Co-Chair, President Limson, and member-SUCs expressed their support and gratitude for the initiatives done by the Consortium.

 “Thank you very much for leading this output which is well-conceived. This could be a model or reference for other institutions,” he expressed.

This Plan for Talent Management by CO-SHINE will be endorsed to the governing boards of member-SUCs for approval and implementation.
