CATBALOGAN CITY – Three papers from Samar State University (SSU) qualified for presentation on the 32nd Joint Regional Research, Development and Extension Symposium of the Visayas Consortium for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Program (ViCARP) and the Regional Research and Development/Extension Network (RRDEN) which was held via Zoom on March 23-24 (21).
The paper titled “Coastal Communities’ Biodiversity Conservation and Protection Initiatives: A Case Study in the West Coasts of Samar, Philippines” of Ms. Glory Godin (Lead), Rosybelle T. Sablad, Mark Anthony P. Alavata, and Julliene Mae D. Zartiga was among the five papers included under the Basic Research Category.
While Mr. Ruel Amascual’s led paper titled “Water Quality Assessment of Antiao River in Samar, Philippines” was also presented in the event. Co-authoring the said paper were Harold O. Panganoron, Andrew M. Gamba, Ma. Luningning L. Amparado, and Elmer I. Irene.
The on-going extension project of Dr. Marife M. Lacaba (Project Leader), Dr. Redentor S. Palencia, Ms. Nelinda T. Tan, Ms. Jonafe O. Matugas, Ms. Renalyn B. Villanueva, Mr. Rudio M. Cabrillas Jr., and Dr. Ramil M. Perez of Eastern Samar State University (EVSU), qualified for the Poster Category.
The symposium served as a platform for showcasing papers generated by the consortium member institutions (CMIs) for essential RDE information which could be used to come up with wiser policies and more meaningful programs, projects, activities, and development interventions.
