In the 18th edition of the Webometrics Ranking on January 2021, Samar State University (SSU) Ranked No. 95 among Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the Philippines along cybermetric or webometric indicators. These indicators measure the scientific activity of universities on the web.
This independent ranking of HEIs performance was released by the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group belonging to the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) founded in 1939 and the largest public research body in Spain and among the first basic research organizations in Europe.
In more than 31,000 universities in 200 countries monitored by CSIC, SSU ranked 15627 in the world with a Visibility Rank (Web Contents Impact) at 18158, Openness Rank (Top Cited Researchers) at 5172, and Excellence Rank (Top Cited Papers) at 6657.
Objectives of the Webometrics Ranking of World’s Universities include promotion of web publication and in support to open/electronic access initiatives to scientific publications and other academic materials which the University also places high regard on.
