Catbalogan City – “We are moving heaven and earth for you, and we hope you also do the same for Samar State University,” said Dr. Marilyn D. Cardoso, University President, during the Freshmen General Orientation at the SSU Quadrangle, September 2, 2019.
She welcomed the freshmen, returnees, transferees, and shifters in Samar State University as their ‘second home’ and emphasized the need to know the instructors, key officials, and administrative personnel.
“It is your responsibility to know them and to understand what they are doing,” she added.
Cardoso also emphasized how lucky they are to be chosen and admitted in the University, enjoying their free tuitions.
“Many applied but not all were accepted because of the holding capacity of the University. You are very lucky to be included in the 1800 freshmen students for this school year,” she said.
She, then, enumerated the different milestones of the University and emphasized that SSU is ‘moving heaven and earth’ to provide for the students.
“This is our promise to you, that SSU will be one of the best. We will never be left behind. Of course, we need you to cooperate and collaborate with us as our partners,” Cardoso said.
Together with Cardoso are the Vice-Presidents who gave their message to the students and presented their staff.
Orientations per college will still be conducted by the Student Welfare and Development Services all throughout the week.
