CATBALOGAN – Engr. Maria Elena Tizon, Ms. Joanalyn Mabulac, Ms. Venus Candido, Mr. Erickson Niego, and Prof. Maryjes Calades spearheaded the computer literacy using Microsoft word last August 31 (19) at NCAS 11 and 12, Samar State University.
Prof. Maryjes Calades introduced to the participants the basic parts of a computer. While in the afternoon session Engr. Maria Elena Tizon and Ms. Joanalyn Mabulac started the introduction to Microsoft Office Word. Engr. Tizon takes part on the text basics, formatting, saving checking spelling and grammar, printing, and columns and rows. Ms. Mabulac continued the discussion by introducing to the participants how to insert clips and/or images, and how to use text boxes, word art and wrappings. Mabulac, with the assistance of Ms. Candido, also gave a set of activity to help the participants practice what they have learned for the Day 1 which ended up with a favorable output.
The activity was set to introduce to the participants the basics of Microsoft Word, its importance in the society and work environment; and help participants cope with the emerging technologies.
Eight (8) participants were present during day 1 composed of one (1) male and seven (7) female participants. It was determined that the participants will be grouped into two.
Registration started at exactly 8:00 am and the program started at 9:30 am. One of the participants led the prayer which is then followed by a short introduction and announcing of result for the assessment delivered by Prof. Necasio Abuda, CAS Extension Coordinator.
A short talk was delivered by the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Florabelle B. Patosa, to encourage the participants to learn and integrate what they have learned from the Day 1 activity into their offices.
