SSU unearths ISO 14001:2015

Catbalogan City – Samar State University (SSU) held an orientation-seminar on ISO 14001:2015-Environmental Management System (EMS) last February 21-22 at the SSU Convention Center.

Mr. Kevin T. Castillon, the Resource Speaker of the two-day orientation, talked about the standards and requirements of the said system.

Castillo shared the ISO 14001:2015 clauses, which include clauses one through three describing the standard and clauses four through 10 containing the requirements for an EMS: Context of the organization (clause 4), Leadership (clause 5), Planning (clause 6), Support (clause 7), Operation (clause 8), Performance evaluation (Clause 9) and Improvement (clause 10).

The EMS It helps organizations improve their environmental performance through more efficient use of resources and reduction of waste, gaining a competitive advantage and the trust of stakeholders.

ISO 14001:2015 can be integrated easily into any existing ISO management system, as for SSU, the integration of EMS to ISO 9001:2015.

With this pursuit undertaken, SSU proves its commitment to the continual improvement of the systems for customer satisfaction.
