2018 graduating studes attend Placement Seminar-Workshop

Graduating students intently listen to Dr. Palencia’s discussion.

SSU, Catbalogan City – The first batch of attendees for the placement seminar-workshop actively listened to the different speakers on topics of job application last February 12 at the Audio-visual Center.

The first batch was composed of graduating students from the College of Nursing, College of Engineering, and the programs BS Information System, BS Psychology and BS Statistics from the College of Arts and Sciences.

Spearheaded by the Career Guidance Center, the event was graced by Dr. Redentor S. Palencia, Director of the University Publication and Executive Assistant III, who talked about ‘Writing an Impressive and Effective Application Letter and Curriculum Vitae.

“You should not take this topic lightly because this is the first step to win an interview,” he said.

Also present were Ms. Joan J. Baclay, Mr. Michael Tuazon, Mr. Danny Nicomedes, and Atty. Sherry Mae Arcales who shared their expertise on the topics Skills and Etiquette in a Job Interview, Employment Opportunities, and Labor Laws respectively.

After the talks, Denver Millado, a BS Pharmacy graduating student, expressed his appreciation for the knowledge he has gained from the seminar.

“An akon confidence ha pag-apply mas nagdako kay tungod maaram na ako yana han mga basics ha pagsurat hin resume ngan kun mag-aano ako during the interview (My confidence was boosted because I have learned about the basics in writing a resume and what I should do during an interview),” Millado stated.

The Career Guidance Center will resume the placement seminar-workshop on February 19 for the first batch, February 21 for BSEd, February 22 and March 1 for BEEd, and February 26 and March 5 for CIT.
