Samar State University is in search for private sector representatives to the SSU Board of Regents (BOR) wherein 2 position is vacant. BOR is composed of 13 members from various sectors of the government headed by the CHED commisioner and the president of the university as the assistant chair. Three of the BOR members come from the private sector. Section 5(k) is a prominent citizens who have distinguished themselves in their profession or fields of specialization of the university. The same section further states that the setting BOR shall appoint (3) prominent citizens from among a list of at least five (5) persons qualified in the Province of Samar, as recommended by the search committee constituted by the university president, in consultation with the Chairperson of the CHED, based on the normal standards and qualifications for the position. The elected private sector representative shall serve for a term of two (2) years.
