Library Guidelines and Policies

General Rules

  • Fill out the log sheet upon entering the University Library.
  • Users must observe the proper SSU Dress Code and conduct themselves properly in the library.
  • Observe silence at all times. All cellular phones must be set to silent mode before entering the library. Answering or making calls should be done in a minimal tone without disturbing other library users.
  • Use library materials properly. Do not tear page(s) nor underline part(s) as these are forms of vandalism and are punishable under Samar State University Library Policy.
  • Leave books on the table after using (except for the Reserve Books that need to be returned at the Circulation/Reserved Counter).
  • Eating, smoking, and bringing drinks (bottled water, canned drinks, etc.) and making class projects (drawing, cutting, lettering, etc.) inside the library are prohibited. However, drawing is allowable at the General Reference Section.
  • Keep the library facilities in order. Push back chairs after using.
  • The library will not be responsible for the loss of personal belongings.
  • Present your things for inspection before leaving the library.
  • Present the receipt for books to be taken outside the library. Library EXIT in-charge will confiscate library materials that are not properly checked out at the Circulation Counter.
  • Return borrowed books on time to avoid accumulating fines of unreturned overdue books.
