CATBALOGAN CITY – Six (6) newly elected officers of the Samar State University (SSU) Federation of Supreme Student Councils (SSCs) took oath of office on January 26 (22) at the SSU Convention Center officiated by University President, Dr. Marilyn D. Cardoso.
The Federation has been established for the coordination and camaraderie of all the SSCs of the different University Campuses of SSU and its officers will represent the student population during general meetings with other stakeholders.
Hon. Luis A. Cañedo of Paranas Campus was elected as the Chief Executive Officer of the Federation and he will sit as one of the members of the Board of Regents as the Student Regent.
Taking the second highest position is Hon. Lobela B. Bulos as Federation Vice President, Milben G. Abalos as Secretary, Trina Mei D. Pacios as Treasurer, Rachel Fabillar as Auditor, and Zesa Mae Calutan as Mass Media Officer (MMO).
During the Oath Taking Ceremony, Dr. Cardoso reminded the officers to take their roles not for their own welfare, but for the best interest of SSU and of the student population.
“I hope and pray that you do your thing independently as a scholarly and academic exercise, promoting the best for the students. Be independent, be critical,” she stated.
