CATBALOGAN CITY – The recently conducted POVCON, a three day-event from October 27 to 29 (21), was participated by researchers and policy makers from all over the country who presented 12 posters, 10 short film entries and _ full papers along Social Enterprise and Business Technology Trends, Leadership and Public Governance in Times of Crisis, S&T Intervention for Resilient Communities, and Health Science, Education and Environmental Management.
The Best Short Film for POVCON 2021 is the entry from LNU titled “Pagpundir han Eroy (A Mother’s Waning Light)”, 2nd Place is the entry from SSU Paranas Campus titled “Anagasi: The Place Close to Heaven”, 3rd Place is another entry from SSU titled “Lanod” and the People’s Choice Award was given to the documentary film titled “Lastikman” of Leyte Normal University.
Dr. April V. Zaballa-Luzon won 3rd Place in the Poster Competition for her research study titled “The Implementation of Strategic Performance Management System in State College of Camarines Sur”, Flora Mia Y. Duatin et al. won 2nd Place for their study titled “Oligossaccharides as Growth Stimulant for the Sustainable and Low Cost Production of in vitro Abaca (Musa textilis Nee) Planting Materials, and the Best Poster Award was won by Ruffy Rodrigo et al for their research study titled “Adaptation of Migrated Forest Trees in a Rainforestation Demo Farm in Biliran Island, Philippines.
Mr. Teody Lester V. Panela, Ms. Lyka R. Comora, Ms. Rosemarie B. Galanza, and Mr. Jason G. Tuang-tuang bagged the Best Paper Presenters.
Qualifier for the Most Outstanding Paper and the Best Paper for Track 1 is the paper titled “Returning Overseas Filipino Worker’s Business Venture During Pandemic: A Descriptive Phenomenology by Ursula M. Labita et al. of LNU and another qualifier and Best Paper for Track 2 were Sylvester T. Cortes of Cebu Technological University for their paper titled “Preliminary Assessment on the State of Urban Agriculture in Cebu City, Philippines towards Proposal of Action Plans”.
And the Most Outstanding Paper for the 5th POVCON is Dr. Felisa E. Gomba of SSU and Dr. Wenceslao Perante with their paper titled “Risk Evaluation of Community-Based Water Systems from Nonpoint-Source Pollution in Eastern Visayas, Philippines”.
POVCON 2021 concluded with teaser inviting everyone to join again the next year’s event.
