SSU social sciences, languages faculty join webinar on thematic analysis

CATBALOGAN CITY – Samar State University (SSU) invited its Social Sciences and Languages faculty to join the Webinar on  the Conduct and Application of Thematic Analysis in Qualitative and Mixed Method Research on September 23-24 (21) via Zoom web conferencing.

Through the Research Center for Social and Culture Issues (RCCSI) headed by Dir. Rubi M. Parrocho, the event was able to cater _ participants who were provided foundational concepts on Thematic Analysis including History and Theoretical Background and Decisions in Doing Thematic Analysis, Standards in Doing Thematic Analysis and Thematic Analysis vs. Content, a 6-Phase Guide to Doing Thematic Analysis, Workshop on Thematic Analysis, and Guide to Content Analysis.

Topics on Managing Qualitative Data: Possibilities in the New Normal and Interpretation in Qualitative, Mixing Qualitative and Quantitative Methods, and Basic Application in Social Research and From Thematic Analysis to Natural Language Processing (NLP) were also discussed.

Thematic analysis strives to identify patterns of meanings in a collected data which could really be helpful to social sciences and languages faculty in the analysis of their researcher undertakings.

Professors from the University of the Philippines Visayas, Assistant Prof. Augil Marie Q. Robles and Assistant Prof. Anecita Patricia T. Alingasa served as the speakers.
