Day-3 of Samar State University Annual Faculty Development Training kicked off with a lecture-workshop on moodle-based Learning Management System (LMS) among the university’s newly hired and part-time faculty members, August 3 (2021).
Professor Zaldy A. Jabiñar, University Director for Information and Communications Technology, spearheaded said training-workshop focusing on the rudiments and applications of the LMS. The training aimed to bridge the gap faced by the institution amidst the new normal educational setup. As what Prof. Jabiñar reiterated: “We need to learn and relearn how to actually utilize the LMS because this is one of our means to answer the concerns of our clienteles especially those who belong to technology-challenged communities.”
The SSU-LMS is one of the online platforms provided by the university to effectively and efficiently implement a flexible learning modality. Using the google-generated institutional e-mail address, SSU faculty members and bona fide students can access the moodle-based LMS via ssuonline.net or thru the downloaded SSU online classroom app from google playstore.
Following the health protocols, the hybrid lecture-workshop was conducted live at the university’s Convention Center for said groups of participants and presented virtually to other faculty participants in their designated college-based venues.
