CATBALOGAN CITY- Offices and Units of Samar State University (SSU) conducted their respective Management Review for FY 2017-2021 and Strategic Planning for FY 2022-2026.
The Administration and Finance held the event at Rosario Hills, Brgy. Mahayag Catbalogan City, Samar on July 12-13 (21), the Research and Extension Services on July 15-16 (21) at Caluwayan Beach Resort, Marabut Samar, while the Student Affairs and Services, the Academic Affairs, and the College of Industrial Technology deep dived on July 22-23 (21), July 26-27 (21), and July 27 (21) respectively at SSU 3rd flr. Convention Center, Catbalogan Samar. Other Offices and Units are scheduled to follow.
The event aims to review accomplishments along the 5 goals set in the Strategic Plan 2017-2021 namely, (1) Preparing the Foundation of an International University, (2) Building an environment that Encourages Excellence in Instruction, Research, and Community Engagement, (3) Attracting and Retaining the Best Talent, (4) Leading Organizational Effectiveness, and (5) Strengthening Partnership with Stakeholders for Mutual Benefit.
Also, it aims to determine the 5-year strategic directions of the Offices and Units on its goal to assist the University in ensuring development through continual improvement and customer satisfaction.
“We meet to consult one another and together plan and decide of what are the best things to do to fulfill our call as higher learning institution,” said the University President, Dr. Marilyn D. Cardoso, in her Opening Messages.
Strategic Plan for FY 2022-2026 dubbed as Future Proofing Samar State University is planned to be achieved through different ways forward such as Establishment of Flexible Learning Management Center, Digitization of Processes, Institutionalizing of Technology Business Incubators, Addressing the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, and Establishment of a PINK (Promoting Inclusive, Innovative Non-sexist Key Programs and Projects for Women and Gender Development) Center among others.
With SSU’s continuous innovation, building, and serving, 2022 and beyond are highly promising.
