At a safe distance, Samar State University (SSU) continues its traditional biowall-lighting ceremony as it officially welcomes the Christmas season.
The ceremony was virtually streamed during the 4th State of the University Address (SUA) of the University President, Dr. Marilyn D. Cardoso on November 17, 2020. It marked the launch of the ‘Christmas spirit’ in the University that despite the pandemic, SSU will serve as the light in the darkness and the hope in uncertainties.
The biowall is one of the distinct attraction in the University which is considered as one of the city’s most Instagrammable spots. Instead of concrete walls, SSU being a ‘green University’, has vertical garden surrounding its vicinity which creates a dramatic aesthetic. And before the year ends, Christmas lights were installed to illuminate the holiday spirit and Filipino ornamental lanterns, locally known as parol, were also displayed on the biowall.
With the twists and turns that had happened in the world, Samar State University (SSU) invites everyone out of the hectic pace of the holiday season to stop by and see that indeed, light has come.
Maupay nga pasko ha iyo nga tanan!
