SSU opens new 4-storey Research Innovation Center

 

The newly furnished Research & Innovation Center of SSU opens for a blessing ceremony today, February 3, Monday.

The four storey building houses six (6) research laboratories: Biochemistry Laboratory, Microbiology Laboratory, Pharmacology Laboratory, Electro pneumatic Laboratory, Programmable Logic Devices (PLD) & Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) and Technology Computer Aided Design (TCAD) Laboratories, Device Fabrication Laboratory & Facilities and Nanotechnology Laboratory; and the different offices under the Office of the Vice President for Research and Extension Services (OVPRES) namely: the Executive Office for Research (Center for Engineering, Science and Technology Innovation, Center for Culture and Social Issues, Center for Fisheries and Aquatic Resources), the Executive Office for Extension, Gender and Development (GAD), Management and Information System (MIS), Information, Communication & Technology (ICT), Geographic Information System (GIS) Office, Ethics Review Committee, and the Intellectual Property and Licensing Services Office (IPLSO).

The building is set to be officially inaugurated sometime in February. Other major infrastructure projects of the university such as the New College of Arts and Sciences (NCAS) building is also set to open this year.
