SSU attended the 1st VietPhil Forum and signed MOU with Tra Vinh University at Tra Vinh City, Travinh, Vietnam on December 4-8, 2019.
SSU delegation composed of Dr. Ronald L. Orale, VP for Research and Extension Services, Dr. Sherrie Ann Cananua-Labid, Executive director for research, Maria Rubi Parrocho, Director for Rccsi, Dr. Elmer Irene, Director for International Affairs, and Mel Francis Gaspar Separa, BSECE 5th year student have presented papers in the 1st VietPhil Research Forum held in Tra Vinh University(TVU) in Vietnam.
The said international conference was jointly organized by Southern Leyte State University and Palompon Institute of Technology in the Philippines and themed “Enabling Career Mobility for Students in Global Integration”.
Researchers from TVU and other universities in Vietnam have also presented their papers which have been categorized into Economics and Humanities, Agriculture and Aquaculture, Language Teaching, Education, Technology and Social science.
There were more than 40 research papers that have been accepted and acknowledged for presentation.
The forum aimed to be a platform for research dissemination for researchers in the Philippines and Vietnam.
During the event, SSU inked a Memorandum of Understanding with TVU and discussed the potential for collaboration for joint research, culture study tour, faculty and students exchange which will be implemented next year.
