Dr. Gina U. Españo, Dean of the College of Education and Ms. Sweet Mercy F. Pacolor, Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences had a successful signing of MOU with Handong Global University (HGU) in Pohang, Republic of Korea for educational and cultural exchange of students and faculty last September 1-6.
Dr. Soon-Heung Chang, HGU President, together with other officials: Prof. Jae-chun Won, Dean of International Affairs; Prof. Scott Lincoln, Director of International Affairs and; Mr. Kevin Cho, Deputy Director of International Affairs witnessed the significant activity.
HGU envisions to ‘Change the World with Love and Wisdom’ and aims to pursue academic excellence and whole-person education based on the Christian faith to train global leaders who will change the world.
Pacolor and Españo also went to the ODA Education Center of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to give intent on having more partnerships with the schools and universities in Korea.
They also negotiated with the members of International Relations in Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) regarding student and faculty training program.
POSTECH advised the faculty of SSU who are interested in faculty immersion to visit their website (www.postech.ac.kr).
Pacolor and Españo also brought SSU to the Institute for Global Education (IGE) to open doors for partnership. IGE expressed their willingness to grant scholarships to SSU students who are interested.
