CATBALOGAN CITY, Philippines—Samar State University (SSU), through its fisheries researchers, supports the Sustainable Development Goal 14 (Life Below Water) with the study, “Water Quality Assessment of Antiao River in Samar,” published in the Scopus-indexed Water Conservation & Management (WCM).
The study was authored by SSU faculty members, namely Ruel Amascual, Harold Pangonoron, Andrew Gamba, and Dr. Elmer Irene.
The study was carried out to assess and provide a baseline data on the water quality of Antiao River in Samar, Philippines. Based on the results, the water quality of the river exceeded the standards of the Department of Environmental and Natural Resources – Environmental Management Bureau (DENR – EMB) for Class C water bodies.
