Participated by a total of fifty-two (52) University officials and faculty members, the activity is part of Senator Pia Cayetano’s initiative on promoting ‘Futures Thinking’ among higher education institutions in the country. The ‘Futures Thinking’ agendum emphasizes the need for intergenerational fairness through a multidisciplinary approach on value creation and long-term strategic foresight.
Mr. Emmanuel R. De Guia, Director for Strategic Partnership and Networking PhilFutures, and Assoc. Prof. Jalaine Joyce M. Malabanan, provided key discussions and inputs along value creation for State Universities and Colleges (SUC), futures thinking and value creation expectation gaps, operationalizing public values in higher education, and value creation mechanisms.

As manifested in the workshop, SSU seeks to prioritize value creation along (1) holistic technological integration and SMART University initiative, (2) strategic resource management and sustainable practices, (3) ethical governance and behavioral programs, and (4) enhanced partnership frameworks and community engagement.
