SSU-SICGLG Promotes Barangay-Based Capacity Enhancement

MOTIONG, Samar – Samar State University (SSU) in collaboration with the local government of Motiong, Samar conducted a two-day training program on “Empowerment through Leadership: Strengthening Barangay Officials for Effective Governance” and “Developing Communication and Technical Writing Skills: Essentials for Effective Governance” from June 20 to 21, 2024 at the Balay ha Baybayon, Motiong, Samar.

The programs, in pursuit of the Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangays (SGLGB) in Motiong, Samar, has the commitment to capacitate barangay functionaries, ensuring they are well-equipped to handle the demands of local governance effectively. The training sessions focused on empowering leaders with essential skills in leadership, communication, and technical writing, which are crucial for transparent and efficient governance.

Graced by Municipality Mayor Hon. Renato T. Cabael, Motiong and Municipal Local Government Operations Office Ms. Laarni B. Tuazon, the 28 participants from the barangay functionaries of Brgy. Poblacion 1, Brgy, New Minarog, and Brgy. Caranas, engaged in various interactive sessions and practical exercises.

The programs underscore SSU-SICGLG’s dedication to promote good governance at the grassroots level, ultimately contributing to the overall development and welfare of the local communities in the Samar island.
