TACLOBAN CITY, Philippines – Samar State University garnered various awards during the “Pagpupugay sa Serbisyong Bayan: PASUC8 Tribute & DBM Awards for Top Performers of 2023,” held on June 27, 2024 at the Summit Hotel, Tacloban City, Philippines.
The University received three awards as Physical Performance Achiever and one Income Collection Award for the Fiscal Year 2023 under the General Appropriations Act (GAA). The first three distinctions recognize SSU’s attainment of targets for all Performance Indicators (Higher Education Program), and 100% actual accomplishments in “Percentage of Undergraduate Programs with Accreditation” and “Percentage of Undergraduate Students Enrolled in CHED-Identified and RDC-Identified Priority Programs.” Moreover, the University also garnered the Income Collection Award for obtaining a 118.21% income collection rate for Fiscal Year 2023.
The DBM-granted awards are in pursuant of the Executive Order No. 292 and Administrative Code of 1987 dated July 25, 1987 on, “evaluation of the quantitative, qualitative measures and other indicators of agency performance.” Outstanding state universities and colleges (SUC) in the region were duly recognized along three areas, namely: Physical Performance, Financial Performance, and Income Performance.
The event was attended by Dr. Maximo C. Aljibe, Director of the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office VIII (CHEDRO8) and SUC presidents in the region.
