CATBALOGAN CITY – In the recent ranking released by the Alper-Doger (AD) Scientific Index, nineteen researchers from Samar State University (SSU) were among the top 5000 scientists in the Philippines.
The evaluation system of the AD Scientific Index was based on the scientific performance and the added value of the scientific productivity of individual scientists.
Based on Google Scholar’s total h-index scores, all who are in the academe ranked in the world’s top 10,000 and top 100,000 in university rankings were included in the assessment.
Dr, Rheajane A. Rosales, the Director of the SSU Ethics Review Board (ERB) and a faculty of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences (CONHS) was named as the top-cited scientist in SSU with her most cited paper about the level of job satisfaction and burnout among nurses in three government hospitals in Samar.
Dr. Rosales was recently awarded as the 2021 Visayas’ Best Mentor in Health Research by the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (DOST-PCHRD) for building the capacities of researchers in the health sector.
Following Dr. Rosales in the updated ranking was Dr. Ronald L. Orale, SSU Vice President for Research and Extension Services. His cited researches were along environment, civil engineering, technology management, and educational management and processes.
Completing the Top 19 in SSU’s most cited scientists according to AD Scientific Index were Prof. Begonia Yboa, Engr. Mirador Labrador, Dr. Felisa E. Gomba, Dr. Emilio H. Cebu, Dr. Marife M. Lacaba, Mr. Gilbey Rosales, Mr. Jerson Sorio, Engr. Lady Ann M. Fabillar, Dr. Abigail M. Cabaguing, former faculty Mr. Jerry Imbong, Ms. Julie Ann Arcales, Mr. Harold Panganoron, Engr. April Ellen Quebada, former University President Dr. Eusebio T. Pacolor, Mr. Jesus T. Racuyal, Dr. Dolores L. Arteche and SSU Graduate School student Ms. Johanna Cabalhin.
