CATBALOGAN CITY─ Thirty (30) key officials of Samar State University (SSU) joined the Capacity Building on University Futures and Foresight on January 4-6 (23) via a bichronous learning.
The Capacity Building is a public and open course offering by the Aptissimi Development Innovations, Inc. (ADII) aimed to support State Universities in pursuing their research agenda.
With Ms. Ma. Christine F. Reyes, ADII Director, as Resource Speaker of Module 1, the participants learned the Foresight-Insight-Action to enhance skills in Foresight and Futures Thinking.
Coaches Mr. Noel De Guia, Mr. Raul Roldan, Mr. Joseph Reylan Viray, and Ms. Kriztine Viray were all in assistance during the workshop using the Futures Triangle and Scenario Building approaches.
Funding of the said training was made possible through the Two Million pesos 2022 GAA allocation along Capacity Development on Futures Thinking and Strategic Foresight. Still facilitated by Senator Pia S. Cayetano, another Two million pesos was allocated in the 2023 GAA to further strengthen the Futures Thinking and Foresight programs of higher education institutions.
The SSU team with the Biliran Province State University as its tandem will complete the course on January 25-27 (22) via a face-to-face session for Module 2: Scenario and Strategy Development.
