CATBALOGAN CITY – Following last year’s success, the city-wide bootcamp spearheaded by Samar State University Technology Business Incubator-Local Alliance of Marine-based Businesses and Food Technology (SSU TBI-LAMBAT) was opened to more participants from all over the region on November 7 (22).
Seventy (70) on-site and Zoom participants joined the entrepreneurial idea and skills empowerment training series that welcomes technology advocates and interested parties from any field.
According to the SSU-Intellectual Property and Technology Business Development Office (SSU-IPTBDO) Director Dr. Vivian L. Moya, the bootcamp will showcase opportunities ‘to hone technical and digital skills to level today’s economic and business needs.’
The activity is in partnership with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Region VIII headed by Regional Director Felix S. Tabanao Jr. and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Samar led by Provincial Director Meilou C. Macabare.
Courses on Design Thinking: Turn Your Ideas Into Business, Business Pitch: Discuss Your Product like a Pro, Website Development: Build Your Own Website Using WordPress with Introduction to SEO, Introduction to CyberSecurity: CyberSecurity Know-How, Graphic Design: How to Design Like a Pro Using Canva, Digital & Content Marketing: Learn How to Advertise Like Big Companies, UI/UX Design: Design Professional Applications, and Product Branding & Packaging were discussed as chosen by the participants themselves via poll prior to the event.
Mr. Joseph Gabuay, Mr. Jericho Colitoy, Mr. Erron Mark Mejico, Mr. George Michael Picardal, Ms. Claire Fernandez, Engr. Raven Tabiongan, and Mr. Carlo Valencia served as mentors and facilitators of the different courses.
The event will continue until December 2.
