Employees attend flag raising ceremony after two years

CATBALOGAN CITY –All Samar State University (SSU) personnel attended again the flag raising ceremony of the University on March 14 (22) at the SSU Grounds after two (2) years since its cancellation due to the rise of COVID-19 transmissions in the country in 2020 as a measure to avoid mass gatherings.

The University President Dr. Marilyn D. Cardoso, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Felisa E. Gomba, Vice President for Research and Extension Dr. Ronald L. Orale, Vice President for Administration and Finance Dr. Gina U. Españo, and Vice President for Student Affairs and Services Engr. Ma. Lourdes P. Amante , Deans, and other key officials were also in attendance.

After the ceremony, a short inspirational message was shared by the College of Education (CoEd) faculty Ms. Mra. Lyme F. Correche and  the ‘good news’ about the result of the January 2022 Licensure Examination Test (LET) with one of the Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) graduates landing on the 10th place by the COEd Dean Dr. Laura B. Boller.

And as a sign of respect and love to the late Justice Antonio Eduardo Bermejo Nachura, the legislator-author of RA 9313 (an act converting Samar State Polytechnic College in the Municipality of Catbalogan, Province of Samar into a state university to be known as Samar State University), the flag was lowered to a half-mast.

The Flag Raising activity of the University shall continue every Monday considering the minimum health protocol.
