The Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACUP) has recently concluded a survey visit of the Samar State University. This accreditation was for five (5) programs, namely, Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (Level II); Bachelor of Elementary Education (Level II); Bachelor of Technology (Level II); Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Level II) and Doctor in Management (Preliminary Visit).
The closing program was held at the SSU Audio-Visual Hall with the AACUP team and the faculty in attendance. The highlight of the event was the presentation of the synthesis of evaluation by the overall coordinator for this year’s visit, Dr. Brigida A. Roscom. This was followed by the sharing of strengths and recommendation for each of the accreditation areas headed by the team leaders, Dr. Madelyn Monreal (BEED); Dr. Maria Bernardita Palacio (BSN); Prof. Lilanie Cubita (BSCoE); Dr. Gary dela Cerna (BT) and Dr. Roscom (DM).
In response, the College Deans gave their assurance to the AACUP team that their college will continue to strive for excellence. In solidarity, the University President, Dr. Marilyn D. Cardoso, led the entire SSU community in making the pledge of commitment. Afterward, Dr. Lanie Pacadaljen, Director of SSU Accreditation, took to the podium to offer her acknowledgments and thanks to the various people who have worked together to make the accreditation successful. The VP for Administrative Affairs of SSU, Dr. Jose S. Labro, gave the closing remarks.
The program ended with the photo opportunities between the accreditors and the faculty from the identified colleges.
