LA UNION, Philippines— Samar State University (SSU), joining a global pact for innovation in education, engineering, and agriculture, is one of the partner institutions of Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) in hosting the 3rd International Research and Innovation Conference on Education, Engineering, and Agriculture (IRICEEA 2025) held from December 3 to 5, 2025, in Bauang, La Union. This partnership displays SSU’s commitment to research, innovation, and international collaboration.
IRICEEA 2025 carries the theme “AI in Research and Innovation: Accelerating Discoveries in Engineering, Education, and Agriculture.” The event brought together researchers, educators, and innovators from local and international institutions to explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping key development sectors.
A major highlight of the conference was the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing, where SSU, represented by University President Dr. Palencia, joined DMMMSU and its partner institutions in formalizing strengthened cooperation. The agreement reinforces collaboration among universities across the Philippines, national government agencies, professional organizations, and international institutions from the USA, Indonesia, Thailand, Romania, Bangladesh, and Vietnam.
SSU’s presence at the MOA signing underscores the university’s dedication to expanding research partnerships, advancing innovation-driven education, and contributing to global academic exchanges.
SSU also showcased its research endeavors through the participation of its researchers at the confab, including Dr. Sherrie Ann Labid and Dr. Alona Gabejan, both from the College of Education, who presented their respective research studies during the parallel sessions.
IRICEEA 2025 tackled the transformative role of AI in education, engineering, and agriculture.
