TACLOBAN CITY, Philippines – Dr. Noel Espallardo, Dean of the Samar Island Institute of Medicine of Samar State University (SSU), presented alongside fellow SSU researcher Ms. Christine Capidos during the 2025 Regional Health Research Symposium (RHRS) that commenced yesterday, December 1, at Summit Hotel, Tacloban City. This year’s symposium carries the theme “One Health for All: Igniting Transdisciplinary Solutions for a Healthier Eastern Visayas.”
Dr. Espallardo led the session “Harnessing Transdisciplinary Approaches for Health Systems Strengthening,” where he emphasized the importance of cross-sector collaboration in addressing longstanding gaps in the health systems of Eastern Visayas.
Dr. Espallardo’s session, alongside Capidos’ plenary lecture, contributed to the symposium’s goal of fostering collective, research-driven solutions among health experts, policymakers, and institutions.
