SSU caps CSC Month 2025 with Fun Run/Walk festivities

CATBALOGAN CITY, Philippines—Samar State University (SSU) concluded its month-long celebration of the 125th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA) with a Fun Run/Walk held today, September 29, at the SSU Grounds, Catbalogan City, Samar. Organized by the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO), the culminating activity brought together faculty, staff, and students in a spirit of camaraderie, wellness, and public service.

Anchored on this year’s PCSA theme, “Bawat Kawani, Lingkod Bayani: Puso, Dangal, at Galing Para sa Bayan,” the event underscored the essential role of civil servants and government institutions in shaping a people-centered nation driven by passion, dignity, and competence.

With the energized participants, the culminating activity symbolized both physical vitality and the continuing commitment of government workers to serve with excellence and integrity. The Top 10 finishers of the Fun Run/Walk were specially recognized and given medals, alongside all participants in in credit of their involvement.

The activity capped a series of engaging events organized by HRMO throughout September in observance of the nationwide Civil Service Commission (CSC) Month. Among these were the Fun Fest: Badminton (September 3), the 2025 Government Job Fair (September 5), the Orientation/Re-orientation and Oathtaking of Newly Hired & Promoted SSU Personnel/Faculty (September 10), the Fun Fest: Volleyball (September 17), and a meaningful Tree Growing Activity (September 19).

Through this lineup of activities, SSU not only honored the contributions of its personnel but also emphasized values of teamwork, professional growth, and environmental stewardship.
