TACLOBAN CITY, Philippines— Samar State University (SSU) emerged as one of the top-performing state universities during the FY 2025 Mid-Year Performance Dialogue for SUCs, CHED, and TESDA led by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Region VIII on September 12, 2025, at the DBM Conference Hall, DBM Regional Office VIII, Tacloban City.
SSU was recognized with the Income Collection Award (Overall Actual Collection over Target) after obtaining an outstanding income collection rate of 158.68%, surpassing its target collection for Fiscal Year 2024.
The university also received the Physical Performance Achiever Award for attaining 100% of its Physical Performance Indicators under the FY 2024 General Appropriations Act.
Further highlighting its commitment to transparency and accountability, SSU earned the Reportorial Compliance Award for the 1st and 2nd Quarters of 2025. The recognition was given for the university’s commendable complete and timely submission of all 24 required Budget and Financial Accountability Reports (BFARs), achieving a 100% compliance rate.
The awards were duly received by Engr. Lourdes P. Amante, Vice-President for Admin and Finance Services, Ms. Geraldine Baldoza, SSU Budget Officer, and Ms. Arianne Rose Tafalla, Executive Assistant.
These awards underscore SSU’s dedication to fiscal responsibility, performance excellence, and institutional integrity as it continues to strengthen its role as a transformative university in Eastern Visayas.
