SSU expands global linkage with UNESA thru Psychology program collab

CATBALOGAN CITY, Philippines—Samar State University (SSU) and Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA) sealed an international academic partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) and an Implementation Arrangement (IA) for the Psychology Program. The virtual ceremony was held today, August 20, via Zoom Web Conferencing.

Representing SSU were faculty members from the College of Arts and Sciences (Psychology Department), namely Dr. Mae V. Cañal, Mary Jane B. Cinco, Karizza Rochelle S. Rojas, Ma. Andrea C. Del Rosario, Jevah Mae Piamonte, and Junelle R. Guerra.

From UNESA, the delegation was led by Dr. Diana Rahmasari, Dean of the Faculty of Psychology.

The program opened with welcome messages from both universities underscoring the significance of the collaboration in expanding international linkages and strengthening academic ties. SSU President Dr. Redentor S. Palencia also graced the virtual gathering where he expressed gratitude and optimism in his welcome message. He highlighted that the significant partnership would open more opportunities for faculty and students.

SSU Director for International Affairs Dr. Elmer A. Irene formally presented the MOA and IA before the ceremonial signing. The agreements sealed both universities’ shared commitment to advancing the Psychology Program through collaborative initiatives, joint academic activities, and mutual support.
