CATBALOGAN CITY, Philippines – Samar State University (SSU) obtained 14 new Certificates of Program Compliance (COPC) conferred by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) during their Validation Visit on October 18, 2024 at the SSU CAS Audio-Visual Center, Catbalogan City.
Various colleges of the university were granted COPC for their programs, including the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) for its Bachelor of Science in Statistics, the College of Nursing and Health Sciences (CONHS) for its Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics and Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, the College of Education (COED) for its Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, and the SSU Mercedes Campus for its Bachelor of Technical-Vocation Teacher Education majors in Fish Processing and Fish Capture. The aforementioned colleges obtained 100% compliance for all its programs.
Meanwhile, the College of Industrial Technology (CIT) was given COPC for its program on Bachelor of Industrial Technology majors in Electrical Technology, Architectural Drafting Technology, Electronics Technology, Culinary Technology, and Automotive Technology. And SSU Paranas Campus has now compliant status for Bachelor of Industrial Technology majors in Apparel and Fashion Technology, Architectural Drafting Technology, and Automotive Technology.
CHED’s COPC attests that certain degree programs offered by state and local universities and colleges meet all the policies, standards, and guidelines set by the commission.
The validation visit was attended by the CHED validation team headed by CHED Regional VIII Director Dr. Maximo C. Aljibe, and joined by OIC-Supervising Education Program Specialist Dr. Catherine O. Iglesias, Education Supervisors Mr. Cydric B. Suyom, Mr. Jan Paolo K. Vega, Mr. Narciso C. Candiza, Ms. Jane A. Latorre, Mr. Emmanuel Antonio A. Lim, Ms. Erleta S. Pinero, Executive Assistant Ms. Generose Q. Valera, Project Technical Staff Ms. Rhea Mae C. Baillo, Kirstin Marjie C. Casillano, and Ms. Ginny M. Quimada, and Ms. Rosielyn A. Abella, Mr. Joselito T. Salubon, and Mr. Rolando S. Galo Jr.
