SSU Launches Groundbreaking GAD Initiatives- Tiny Treasures Center and Mother’s Lounges

CATBALOGAN CITY – In a significant step towards providing safe spaces for men and women, the launch of a functional Tiny Treasures Center and Mother’s Lounges was celebrated earlier today, June 20 (23) at the Samar State University (SSU) CAS Academic Building, Convention Center, and Administration Building, respectively.

The initiative aims to provide a nurturing space where mothers can care for their children comfortably, while juggling with work or study. Specifically, the Tiny Treasures Center and Mother’s Lounge are designed to cater to the unique needs of both mothers and their little ones, ensuring a pleasing experience that prioritizes their well-being.

Equipped with lactation rooms, diaper-changing stations, cozy crib, array of age-appropriate toys, books, and educational materials, the initiatives are meant to create warm and inclusive spaces for mothers and their children.

“This is our way of promoting gender equality and work-life balance, attracting and retaining talents, and fostering a family-friendly organizational culture,” stated President Dr. Marilyn D. Cardoso in her Message.

This unveiling of the Tiny Treasures Center and Mother’s Lounges signifies SSU’s commitment to gender and development as it supports and enables men and women.
