CATBALOGAN CITY─ Samar State University (SSU) took home two (2) awards during the Regional Agri-Aqua Technology Pitch Day Competition, one of the highlights of the AbanTeknologiya-Regional Agri-Aqua Technology Fair organized by the Visayas Consortium for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Program (VICARP) on April 18-19 (23) at the Visayas State University RDE Hall.
SSU’s Samar Island Geographical Information System and Data Analytics Center (SSU-SIGISDAC) staff, Engr. Fernando Macabare, III bagged the 1st Runner Up under the Pitching Competition. He, specifically presented Engr. Raven Tabiongan’s lead project titled “Project 3D CLUP (A 3D Simulation of Comprehensive Land Use Map using GIS and Data Analytics Sustainable Development)”, an NRCP Science and Technology Expert’s Pool (NSTEP) funded project worth half a million through the Nuclear Science and Technology Education Program.
Mr. Glyvan Albos, a staff of SSU’s Samar Island Center for Adult Education and Technology Learning, also won the 2nd Runner Up under the Poster Competition with the project titled “Mudcrab Locator Equipment System”.
With the two awarded projects, SSU gives its full support to the development of agriculture, aquatic, and natural resource research and technology in Eastern Visayas.
