CATBALOGAN CITY – Balik sa Bohol TBI, the newly established Technology Business Incubator (TBI) of Bohol Island State University (BISU) Main Campus in Tagbilaran City, Philippines, conducted a study visit to Samar State University (SSU) to emulate its TBI best practices on Thursday, March 23 (23).
Led by TBI Manager Maria Donna F. Buates, the BISU TBI delegation including Dr. Ivy Corazon Mangaya-ay, Dr. Lloyd Tejano, Dr. Angeline Baldapan, Mrs. Marilou C. Miculob, Engr. Judy Ann Cimafranca, Ms. Samantha Marie Bompat, and Mr. Yvux A. Apawan were welcomed by the SSU President Dr. Marilyn D. Cardoso, SSU-IPTBDO Director Dr. Vivian L. Moya, TBI-LAMBAT Manager Ms. Ma. Teresa H. Enalisan, and the rest of the SSU TBI-LAMBAT team.
Interested in the incubation programs that specialize in food and beverage, including tourism-related startups, the visit was directed to equip BISU TBI staff with necessary competence to fulfil their job descriptions and nurture the entrepreneurial culture in the province of Bohol.
As SSU TBI provided insights on the challenges faced by, the strategies that helped its incubation programs succeed, and the various activities and events that have been implemented to foster an innovative mindset among its startup communities, the BISU TBI looks forward to apply these learnings to improve their own incubation programs and help their startup communities thrive.
