CATBALOGAN CITY – Award-winning and internationally-acclaimed poet Dr. Victorio N. Sugbo dubbed as “Prince of Waray Literature” launched his poetry book titled “Gimata” (means new moon in Waray) at Samar State University (SSU) on November 24 (22).
SSU thru the Museum and Archives unit in partnership with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, the Social Studies Circle and the DYSY 102.9 University Radio spearheaded the Book Launching of the recently retired Full Professor of the University of the Philippines (UP).
Dr. Sugbo’s new book is now added to his poetry collections – Inintokan, Taburos han Dagat, and Poems from Ground Z which were all published by the UP Press.
The book was published by NCCA which comprises fifty nine (59) new poems (with English translations).
During the book launching, the audience had a meet-and-greet with the author and a book signing followed afterwards.
