CATBALOGAN CITY─ In the 80th Regular Board Meeting held at Leyte Normal University on November 10 (22), the Board of Regents (BOR) of Samar State University (SSU) unanimously approved the hiring of the pool of Medical Professors, a prerequisite to operationalize the Samar Island Institute of Medicine (SIIM).
These Medical Professors will lead in the preparations and eventual operations of the SIIM. And as such five (5) Associate Professor V positions will be opened to interested applicants who will serve as Dean, Program Chairs, and full-time Faculty Member of the Medical Institute.
SIIM is expected to fully operate by year 2023. And with the unwavering support of Samar’s Local Government Units and Provincial Local Government Unit and promising talks with a tertiary private hospital in the region which will serve as the base hospital, this major milestone of SSU would truly be a fulfillment of a dream for Samar and the whole Philippine Health Care System.
