CATBALOGAN CITY- The Office of the Student Affairs and Services through the Care and Wellness Services spearheaded the conduct of the PCV13-Prevenar or Pneumonia Vaccination on June 3, 2022 at the College of Arts and Sciences-Visual Center.
This project which was approved through BOR Resolution No. 04, series of 2022 got 200 Samar State University (SSU) Personnel vaccinated and protected against serious and potentially fatal pneumococcal infections. And as the project continues within the next three (3) years, the University targets to immunize all teaching and non-teaching personnel.
“The lifetime pneumonia vaccine has proven to reduce and prevent the risk of pneumococcal disease in adults including pneumonia, meningitis, and sepsis. This immunization that we are conducting would really help protect against pneumococcal bacteria and ensure a healthy environment here in SSU,” stated Dr. Tricia Analyn C. Yulo, University Physician.
With this initiative, the University satisfies Goal 1 under the SSU Resilience and Business Continuity Strategic Plan amid Covid-19 Pandemic which is To Make Safety, Health and Well-Being of SSU Personnel, Students, and Other Stakeholders as Top Priority.
