SSU-Alumni Affairs beats unemployment through employability enhancement, labor education

CATBALOGAN CITY – As part of Samar State University-Alumni Relations and Placement Services (SSU-ARPS) Graduate Employability and Trace Program, the extension program dubbed as Employability Enhancement and Labor Education Webinar was conducted on May 20 (22) to increase employment rate among SSU graduates.

Through the webinar, 55 graduates who attended via Zoom and Facebook Live were given opportunities to work with the invited partner companies.

SSU-ARPS Director Engr. Maricris M. Ediza emphasized the importance of engaging graduates through employment opportunities.

“The office understands the struggles of our fresh grads in finding a job. So now, we are finding employment opportunities for them,” she stated.

Department of Labor and Employment Samar Labor and Employment Officers Mr. Raul Angelo and Ms. Kristine Ranz Orara, City Cooperative Officer Ms. Maila C. Deguia, and GREATENGLISH Corporation Human Resource Talent Acquisition Staff Ms. Daisy Jane H. Pios served as speakers along the topics on Basic Labor Code Standards, Strategies for Employment Application and Company Promotions, and Hiring Opportunities.

 

This extension program is hoped to provide employment to attendees, if not all then at least to a majority.
