CATBALOGAN CITY – Samar State University – Samar Island GIS and Data Analytics Center (SSU-SIGISDAC) led a Training-Workshop on the Assessment of Barangay and Municipal Development Plans to Harmonize Goals & Objectives on May 16 (22) at SSU-Research and Innovation Center Audio-Visual Room (RIC-AVC).
Led by the center’s Director, Engr. Raven Tabiongan, the activity aimed to aid the Barangay Officials and Sangguniang Kabataan in the preparation of their respective Barangay Development Plans and it integration to the Municipal Plan so as to reconcile inconsistencies and incompatibilities in land use proposals among adjacent barangays.
Ten (10) officials from Barangay Ubanon, Barangay Boao, Barangay Guindapunan, and Barangay Guinsorongan attended the event where plans were assessed fora firmer basis of sectoral plans relevant to the physical aspect of development such as land, natural resources, and infrastructure.
The workshop ended on May 17 (22) but the mission of the center continues as they guide government agencies and private developers, particularly those undertaking large-scale projects on the formulation of their Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP).
