Students and faculty receive training from Portsworld Academy

CATBALOGAN CITY One hundred twenty-five (125) students from Samar State University College of Industrial Technology (SSU-CIT) including four (4) faculty members have participated and completed an online course on Certificate in Logistics and Supply Chain Management which commenced on March 7 and ended on March 28 (22).

Offered by Portsworld Academy (PA), a company based in Malaysia which specializes in research/ consultancy, curriculum development, and training along logistics and supply chain management, the online course is part of the training program stipulated in the memorandum of agreement (MOA) between the two Universities which was signed mutually on November 2 (21).

Primarily, the training aimed to provide world-class technical knowledge and skills in managing logistics and supply chain which are very much essential in the academe and industry. It features online modular instruction comprising of weekly webinars, games, audio-visual presentations, exercises, and an evaluative exam. 

Course Facilitators for the delivery of the programme were Durairaj Govindasamy and Dr Charles Winston Chelliah while for the technical facilitation was Jairaj Durairaj both from PA.  

At the end of the training, each participant received a Certificate in Logistics and Supply Chain Management awarded by its provider and SSU’s international partner─Portsworld Academy.
