Preservice teachers oriented on becoming ‘Teacher 4.0’

CATBALOGAN CITY –329 preservice teachers of Samar State University – College of Education (SSU-CoEd) attended the Pre-Deployment Orientation dubbed as “PRE-TE, Ready ka na ba?”on March 29 (22) at the CoEd Function Room.

Organized by the SSU Educators’ Guild, a University-accredited student organization for CoEd students, the seminar primarily aims to tackle the essentials of becoming a professional teacher in the era of industrial revolution 4.0.

“This activity, the Pre-Deployment Orientation, is also being conducted as an essential step to ensure that you are well-informed on the standards and values as well as the responsibilities you carry as 21st Century would-be teachers,” Mrs. Sablan stated.

With the theme “Teacher 4.0: Adapting the New Ways of Becoming a Teacher”, the orientation revolved around topics on Adapting 21st Century Teachers’ Identity, Manifesting Social Etiquette in the Connected World, Becoming a Teacher 4.0, and Embracing the Trends of Becoming a Teacher.

CoEd Acting Dean Dr. Laura B. Boller, Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) Program Chairperson Mr. Art T. Roncesvalles, CoEd Quality Assurance Coordinator Mr. Jake Boy D. Carbonquillo, and Student Teaching Supervisor Mrs. Manilyn S. Sablan served as speakers of the one-day event.
