MARABUT, SAMAR – As the extension program Integrated Literacy Training for Out-of-School Youth (OSY) and Indigenous People kicked off, faculty extension workers from Samar State University – Paranas Campus (SSU-PC) and the College of Education held a social preparation and values formation activity to the training beneficiaries on April 1 (22).
Led by the Director of the University’s Student Welfare and Development Services office, Dr. Mae Villanueva-Cañal, the said set of activities was aimed at orienting the participants of their roles and responsibilities (in the program) and making them aware of the importance of understanding one’s self for open-mindedness and participation throughout the duration of the program.
The town’s Mayor, Hon. Atty. Percival Ortillo Jr, represented by PESO Manager Mrs. Dolores Grabillo, expressed his appreciation for choosing Marabut as the training locale and affirmed the LGU’s commitment in the conduct of succeeding trainings.
The program would run for six months and directed to capacitate the marginalized sectors, particularly the OSYs and indigenous people, amid the global pandemic.
