CATBALOGAN CITY – Samar State University – Samar Island Geographic Information System and Data Analytics Center (SSU-SIGISDAC), a newly-installed research center, together with the SSU-College of Engineering (CoEng’g) teamed up with the SuperMap Philippines, a Software Company, to train and orient participants from all over the country about the Augmented Reality (AR) and GIS Integration through a webinar on January 28 (22).
The webinar aimed to introduce the SuperMap’s latest key technologies and applications. It also featured a live demonstration of Augmented Reality and GIS Integration.
AR and GIS integration has long been developed by SuperMap to leverage the recognition of virtual 2D maps and 3D scenes.
Faculty and staff of the SSU-SIGISDAC attended the webinar including SSU-SIGISDAC Director, Engr. Raven Tabiongan and CoEng’g Dean, Engr. Meddy S. Mangaring.
The webinar with SuperMap is a part of the partnership with SSU as the Center purchased a licensed software of SuperMap Package for Research (SuperMap iDesktopX) which will be used for educational activities such as practical activities for Surveying, Geomatics, and Environment Applications.
