CHED-IDIG funded Webinar offers basic skills in video and podcast production

CATBALOGAN CITY – As part of the Commission on Higher Education-Institutional Development and Innovation Grants (CHED-IDIG) funded project titled “Enhancement of SSU’s Learning Management System (LMS)”, the Webinar on Video and Podcast Production of Learning Packets kicked off on January 12 (22) via Zoom Video Conferencing.

The webinar offered basic skills in video and podcast production of learning packets by tackling the topics on Open Educational Resources and Creative Commons Licenses, The Video Production Process: Scriptwriting, Principles of Video Production and Video Recording using a mobile phone, Video Editing Software (Shot Cut), Podcast Production Scriptwriting, Audio Recording and Podcast Editing Software (Audacity).

110 participants from Samar State University (SSU), Leyte Normal University (LNU), Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU), University of Eastern Philippines (UEP), Northwest Samar State University (NWSSU), Palawan State University (PSU), Samar Colleges, Inc. (SC), Saint Mary’s College of Catbalogan (SMCC), Surigao State College of Technology and University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJR),  Commission on Audit (COA), Department of Education (DepEd), Samar Division, and DepEd-Catbalogan City Division were challenged to “ensure that the learners learn best” by packaging lessons that cater the needs of the 21st century learners.

University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) Office of Academic Support and Instructional Services Director, Asst. Prof. Ana Katrina Marcial, and UPOU Multimedia Center Director, Ms. Luisa Gelisan served as speakers during the first day and UPOU Videographer/Video Editor, Mr. Alejandro Zamora, and UPOU Information Systems Researcher, Mr. Lexter Mangubat shared their expertise on the second day, January 14.

The webinar series will continue on January 17, and 20 (22) with UPOU Videographer/Video Editor, Mr. Alejandro Zamora and UPOU Graphic Artist, Ms. Ann Kristine Medina as Resource Persons.
