CATBALOGAN CITY – Bulig Catbaloganon, a fundraising team composed of faculty and personnel of Samar State University (SSU), enlivened the Christmas spirit of giving and sharing through “Panarit para ha Southern Leyte”, a traditional carolling to raise funds which will be donated to the most affected families of Typhoon Odette in Southern Leyte.
The team led by founder, Dr. Marife M. Lacaba, started the ‘carolling with a cause’ on December 25 (21).
A total of Php 26,995.00 has already been raised by the team in two (2) days.
They are targeting to help 150 families to be given with 300-peso worth of grocery items.
A live ‘panarit’ was streamed live on Facebook on December 27 (21) being the last day of their fundraising activity.
On December 30, the team will travel to Southern Leyte to distribute the relief goods and hold a mini concert in front of the beneficiaries to give a little entertainment and joy.
