CATBALOGAN CITY – Samar State University (SSU) joins the world in celebrating the World Teachers’ Day Celebration crediting ‘education recovery’ to all teachers, mentors, and philosophers.

According to the United National Educational Scientific Cultural Organization (UNESCO), this year’s celebration recognizes the tireless efforts of teachers despite the pandemic.

With this year’s theme, “Teachers at the Heart of Education Recovery”, SSU recognized the ‘unsung COVID heroes’ via a raffle draw worth P50,000.00 from the SSU-Personnel Association (PA) fund.

Organized by PA Presiden, Dr. Esteban A. Malindog Jr., and the SSU-PA Officers, more than 300 faculty and personnel joined the virtual celebration via Zoom Web Conferencing and 55 of them won the cash prizes on October 7 (21).

Dr. Marilyn D. Cardoso, University President, emphasized “greatness within” each faculty, paving the way to recovery of education during the global crisis.

To end the celebration, a ‘salu-salo’ was shared among faculty and personnel per unit following strict minimum health protocols.
