CATBALOGAN CITY – The Samar Island Center for Local and Good Governance (SICLGG), one of the newest research centers of Samar State University (SSU), presented the results of the survey and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) of the Samar Province Rapid Economic Impact Assessment (REIA) on September 14 (21) at the Provincial Capitol Building.

Specifically, Dr. Abigail Cabaguing, Ms. Julie Ann Quilatan, and Ms. Hanna Macawili, put across findings for fishery and consumer sectors before the focal persons of REIA after finishing the primary data gathering and analysis.

The team had long been working on REIA, a project of the Samar Province aimed at assessing the adverse impact of the pandemic and to solicit the recommendations of the affected sectors regarding these and the University was tapped as consultant along research.

Last August 26, the team also presented the survey result for the poor and vulnerable sectors.

These assessments will serve as bases for instituting appropriate regulatory measures and programs for Samar’s economic recovery.
